About
Kate is a Psychotherapist and Artist currently living in Los Angeles, California. She earned her BA in Studio Art at Oberlin College and her Masters Degree in Art Psychotherapy at Pratt Institute. She was additionally trained in metal smithing at the Jewelry Arts Institute, Film at Tisch NYU, Ceramics at Full-Circle Pottery, and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Maple Counseling Center. Kate currently works with clients in private practice doing art psychotherapy and traditional talk psychotherapy and sells her ceramic work in boutiques and museum stores internationally. Kate’s ceramic work touches upon the themes of transcendence or “losing oneself and the ego” through the simple act of playing with the medium.
Kate teaches ‘Art as therapy’ workshops internationally and recently completed an artist Residency in Italy with the Villa Lena foundation.
